I grew up in Switzerland. Luckily my mother was teaching me from childhood onwards how important it is to have a budget and to save money for future goals. I earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. In the next 17 years, I gained extensive experience in project management for technology development projects. What I enjoyed most was coaching a team of engineers to achieve the technical project targets. During the same time, my family grew to six persons (I am lucky having a loving husband and four lovely children) and we have relocated to Finland. I was "our family's CFO", which was not easy when starting in a new country.
But the real challenge came a few years later: In spring 2015 our family, with the kids being between 11 and 18 years old, moved to the United States. After that move, I found myself in a similar situation as many of my clients: everything around me was different, I got stressed about our finances, and I needed help. The advice of our relocation consultant was crucial for me. It showed me the differences in finances. With that guidance, I could get our family back into regular life and our finances under control again. In addition, I realized that compared to Europe, more people are missing basic education in personal finances and are racking up huge sums in consumer credits. This key experience was raising my interest in the profession of a Daily Money Manager. Today I am a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers. Therefore, I have passed a criminal background check and I follow the association’s guidelines, standards, and practices.
I am holding the bookkeeping certification by the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers and I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time together with my family and I am often outdoors: either skiing, running, hiking, or watching the kids at their sports activities. Also, I like reading a book (either for the next book club meeting or just for fun), and cooking & eating tasty food.
The passion for getting things organized, my high attention to detail, and joy working together with clients is the base for a high-quality service. I enjoy being with my customers on the journey towards a better relationship with money. It is very rewarding to witness the progress and its impact on their lives.
